Pilita Corrales

Pilita Garrido Corrales was born in Cebu City, Cebu in 1939. After finishing her studies at Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion in Cebu, she went to Spain to enroll in a finishing school in music. In 1958, Corrales began her recording career after arriving in Australia for a brief period. She left her legacy by becoming the first woman to make the Australian pop charts with a local recording called ‘Come Closer to Me’. She became a star of the Victoria Television circuit and her first hit, Come Closer to Me, became part of a collection on which she’s billed as one of the Grand Dames of Victorian Radio and Television.
For me pilita corrales is one if the best composers out there because she was the first woman to make the Autralian pop charts with local recording called ‘come closer to me’ Corrales was the first female artist to top the autralian pop music charts long before Helen Reddy, Olivia Newton-John, and Kylie Monigue
She has composed songs such as Rosas Pandan, Matud Nila, Ang Pipit, A Million Thanks To You, and O Maliwanag Na Buwan.
Araw-araw Gabi-gabi is a song that was composed by Pilita Corrales in 2017. for me the song is about a person waiting everyday and every night for his/her love and his/her happiness is to be with his/her love.
Joey Ayala

Philippine music icon Joey Ayala is best known for writing and performing songs about nature and man’s place in it, and for blending indigenous instruments and idioms into his arrangements -he has received numerous awards and citations for his words, music, and advocacies.
For me, I think Joey Ayala’s talents are truly remarkable, he started writing verse and prose in his early teens, he started doing music when he was in high school, joined a seminal theatre group, and did a music for a rock opera. I am amazed by how he used his talent especially in 1982 when he used his talent to record a collection of songs for activist documentaries exposing brutalities occuring under martial law.
He has composed songs such as Karaniwang Tao, Walang Hanggang Paalam, Tabi po, Maglakad, at Bathala.
Karaniwang Tao byJoey Ayala used a string instrument and the tempo is a bit fast. In the song, you can see how Joey Ayala is trying to make us aware about what is happening to the earth, it tells us what ordinary people like us would do if the world suddenly disappeared. The main focus of the song is the issue of how mother nature is being ruined by us humans, its trying to make us come back to our senses that the world we’re living in is slowly dying.
